10 things you'll probably want to know before you get started!

1. What is Ohio TechCred and how do I participate? 

Ohio TechCred is a state-funded, tuition reimbursement program that helps Ohioans learn new skills through technology-focused credentials. Our Marketing Training Room offers several courses that are eligible for Ohio TechCred reimbursement. Check them out! 

2. How do you qualify and how do you apply?  

Eligible Ohio employers can get reimbursed up to $2,000 per credential when current or prospective employees complete technology-focused credentials. Employers must apply for funding during an open application period.

The 2023 Ohio TechCred application periods have closed. The 2024 application periods for Ohio TechCred are:

  • May 1 - 31
  • July 1 - 31
  • September 2 - 30
  • November 1 - 29

3. Who is funding the program and how much is available?

$5 Million was allocated to the Ohio TechCred program for additional funding rounds on March 3rd, 2023. Read the latest info from the Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation.

4. How many employers are participating in the program?

More than 2,200 Ohio employers have been approved for funding.

5. Are people taking advantage of TechCred reimbursements?

Since the start of the program, over 60,000 tech-focused credentials and certifications have been earned by Ohio employees! The state encourages employers to choose a training provider that will most effectively meet their needs. 

6. Who is eligible for funding?

Any Ohio registered employer that employs Ohio resident W-2 employees. 

Employers of all sizes and in all industries are encouraged to apply. 

Agencies of the State of Ohio are not eligible to receive reimbursement. 

Training providers are not eligible for employees trained in-house. 

7. What type of training can be reimbursed?

As an approved training provider, all of our digital marketing courses meet the state's requirements which are:

Industry recognized

Technology focused

Short-term (less than 30 hours)


8. What do you need to apply?

The state requires some basic information about your company for you to begin. Your accounting department should have access to the information listed below.

9. What happens after you apply?

You'll be notified by the Ohio Department of Development that your application has been reviewed and approved for funding. Once approved, you can schedule your training. 

10. How long do employees have to complete their training?

Employees must complete their approved credentials within 12 months to receive tuition reimbursement.
